Today a group of our chemists took part in a competition run by the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Ryan, Arron and Rory in Year 12 did a great job of acting as Trading Standards throughout a series of challenges.
They discovered that all vitamin C tablets are not made equally, worked out which of the sweet samples they were sent contained banned dyes and found out which ready-made cake mix company has been bulking out their mixtures with icing sugar instead of baking powder.
It was a really enjoyable way to get a taste of what it might be like to work as a chemist in the real world.
